IndySoft is committed to data privacy, security, and transparency. Today, we’re happy to announce that IndySoft received approval from the U.S Department of Commerce for its EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield certification.
This certification demonstrates our commitment to making it easier for IndySoft customers to comply with EU and Swiss data protection laws.
What exactly is Privacy Shield?
Privacy Shield is a security certification that ensures protection against the misuse and unwarranted collection of personally identifying information. This certification is only given to companies who adhere to the highest data privacy standards, another way that IndySoft ensures you can rest easy knowing that your data is safe with us.
Privacy Shield was created by the U.S. Department of Commerce, European Commission and Swiss Administration to support commerce between countries and fulfill data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union (EU) and Switzerland to the U.S.
What this means is that IndySoft is now certified to be fully compliant with all regulations regarding the collection and transfer of data to and from the EU. Because EU data privacy laws are so stringent, this ensures that your data will always be handled with the utmost care.
What are the Requirements for IndySoft?
To achieve and maintain Privacy Shield certification, IndySoft must adhere to a number of Privacy Shield principles and core requirements that are consistent with EU and Swiss law. This includes requirements such as:
- Maintaining data integrity and purpose limitation
- Implementing appropriate security controls and policies
- Ensuring accountability for data transferred to third parties
