Press Release: IndySoft Announces SOC 2 Type II and Privacy Shield Certifications

IndySoft becomes the first company in the calibration management software space to achieve external validation of their IT, security, and privacy practices.

A long-time innovator in the calibration management software sector, IndySoft continues to transcend by adhering to the highest privacy and security standards.

Greenville, South Carolina — IndySoft Corporation, a leader in calibration and asset management software, today announced it has successfully achieved its Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type II and U.S Department of Commerce EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield certifications, becoming the first company in the calibration management software space to achieve external validation of their IT, security, and privacy practices.

“Keeping our customers’ data safe and secure is one of our highest priorities,” said Rhett Price, CTO of IndySoft. “Our aim is to meet the highest standards of accountability, and our recent certifications show our ongoing commitment to protect our customers’ data so they can focus on their core business operations.”

Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SOC 2 certification is widely recognized as a gold standard for data security and requires companies to establish and follow strict information security policies and procedures. By achieving Type II certification, an independent third party has validated the design of IndySoft’s controls relevant to security, availability, and confidentiality. IndySoft’s Type II certification demonstrates their commitment to data security through the practices and procedures it follows for protecting against unauthorized access, maintaining the availability of its service, and protecting the confidential information of its customers.

IndySoft’s compliance will be evaluated every year moving forward. The controls were examined using a rigorous process throughout the six-month period between August 1, 2018 and January 31, 2019.

With a multinational customer base, IndySoft has also remained focused on the security and compliance requirements in the European Union and beyond. Privacy Shield was created by the U.S. Department of Commerce, European Commission and Swiss Administration to support commerce between countries and fulfill data protection requirements when transferring personal data from the European Union (EU) and Switzerland to the U.S. This certification is only given to companies who adhere to the highest data privacy standards, another way that IndySoft ensures customers can rest easy knowing that their data is safe.

“IndySoft is committed to complying with the GDPR.” added Price, “Our international customers are very important to us, so we want to assure them, and their customers, that their personal information is safeguarded and that we have the most updated and appropriate protection and privacy in place for them. Additionally, because EU data privacy laws are so stringent, this also ensures that no matter where our customers are based, their data will always be handled with the utmost care.”
